International patients

Send your file and CT scan before you travel to Tabriz.

If you live outside Iran and need a chest or thyroid surgeon, you can call the international support line before you travel and ask how to send your records, so your file is ready for the visit.

What to gather

Clear copies are fine to start with. For a chest finding, the images matter more than the report alone.

  • The CT scan itself (disc or image files) and its written report, not the report alone
  • Older CT, PET, X-ray or ultrasound studies, even from years ago, so the images can be compared
  • Pathology and biopsy reports, and the name of the centre and the file number if the slides are held elsewhere
  • Blood tests, lung function tests, endoscopy or thyroid test results, if you have had them
  • A list of all your medicines with name, dose and how often, including supplements and herbal products
  • Your earlier operations, discharge summaries, referral letters and drug allergies

How it works

  1. 1

    Gather your records

Collect the items listed above. Write down your symptoms, when they began and your questions.

  2. 2

    Call the support line

Tell the team where you are and what you have. They tell you how your records can reach them and what else is missing.

  3. 3

    Ask for an appointment

Booking is by request: leave your details on the booking page and the team calls you back.

  4. 4

    The visit in Tabriz

The doctor examines you and looks at your images. Decisions about more tests or about surgery are made after that, not from a records review alone.

In an emergency while you are in Iran, call 115, Iran's emergency number. It is different from the international support line above.

Practical questions

Can a diagnosis or a decision about surgery be made from my records alone?

No. Records and images are the starting point, but a diagnosis and any plan for surgery are made after an examination.

Why does the CT itself matter, not just the report?

A surgeon reads the images directly. Comparing with older scans also shows whether a finding is new or has stayed the same for years.

Should I stop or change my medicines before I travel?

No. Do not stop or change any medicine on your own, including blood thinners, aspirin and diabetes medicines. Bring the list, and leave any change to your own doctor and the surgeon.

What if I get worse while waiting or travelling?

Sudden breathlessness, severe chest pain or coughing up more than a few streaks of blood need urgent care, not an appointment. In Iran, call 115, Iran's emergency number. Outside Iran, use your local emergency number. See the guide 'When should I call urgently?'.

Is the support line an emergency service?

No. It helps with appointments and patient support. In an emergency in Iran, call 115, Iran's emergency number.

Every patient's situation is different; ask your doctor about your own case.
